Concept entry screen in the travel-search pattern (outside prior art: LugLess booking bar, Expedia flight search). The whole trip is stated in one bar (route, dates, trip shape, bags) and priced before any personal details. Round trip is the default, not an afterthought. Compare directly against Baseline 00.

Round trip ▾
Round trip is the default trip shape: the baseline has no round-trip concept at all (C10) and misbooked returns are support's #1 issue (E026). Both prior-art bars default to it.C10 · E026 · C280

01·2[ SEARCH RESULTS ]

What Search returns: the same five services Baseline 00 sells, re-presented as comparable results (prior art: Kayak, Google Flights, Expedia results). Same engine, different presentation · pickup date, transit time, and promise become the row; the price gradient becomes scannable.

Same five services and prices as Baseline 00: only the presentation changes: the date-picks-service mapping becomes explicit rows with pickup date, transit time, and promise. Conversion deltas between 00 and 01 measure presentation, not pricing.E049 · C32

01·3[ RETURN SELECTION ]

After the outbound is chosen, the same results pattern runs for the return leg: per-leg prices, running trip total. The customer never has to remember to add the return; skipping it stays one click.

The return sells itself here. In the baseline the humans sell the return the form never offers: 41.9% of phone bookings are multi-leg against 25.9% web, and missed returns are support's #1 issue.C10 · E026

[ NOTES ]
One bar states the whole trip before PII: route, arrive-by date, return, trip shape, bag count. Price comes next, identity later. The baseline instead builds the trip across a three-column form that creates the Trip on exit (state 0).
Round trip is the default (C10 is the baseline's gap; E026: 41.9% of phone bookings are multi-leg vs 25.9% web; C280: industry conventions bind the rebuild; both prior-art bars default to round trip).
Bags live in the bar as "1x standard bag ▾", matching how travel search states passengers: the count is part of the search, not a later form section.
To accepts city, port, or ship with disambiguation (C2, C3, E021): the two-Vancouvers case resolves in the field, not on a phone call.
Cruise is a first-class entry ("Cruise? ▾") rather than a checkbox branch (E098: 47.6% of trips, 56.6% of value; C67: leadership direction is a cruise-specific flow).
Trust strip moves above the fold to the moment before search: the baseline's only value argument sits below the fold at the decision screen (C32, E049).
Results are the baseline's five services unchanged ($144 to $304, captured 2026-08-21): the comparison between 00 and 01 isolates presentation. No sort tabs: with at most five services always visible, CHEAPEST and FASTEST badges carry the signal; sort controls exist for thousand-result lists, not this one.
Each row states pickup date, transit time, and the promise against the arrive-by date: the baseline's implicit date-picks-service mapping made explicit. Scarcity is honest: ship-by dates genuinely expire as the arrival date nears.
The return is a visible pending leg ("choose after the outbound"), not a button the customer must think to press (C10, E026). Skipping it is one click, so one-way stays first-class.
Return selection (01·3) reruns the same results pattern per leg: outbound locked in as a summary row with Change, return rows priced per leg, and the sticky bar keeps the running trip total ($144 + $144). The return leg is framed by a delivery date ("delivery Mon, Sep 28"), mirroring the outbound arrive-by.
